Mirador Del Toro & Player del Toro Hike

This is two hikes in one.
Begin your hike at the South end of the Los Ayala Beach. Travel up the trail. Caressing the ocean and the first stop will be Beso Beach. 

Watch for two fabulous trees along the trail. The first is a papallio, also known as the Gringo tree, because it turns red and peels. This strong tree grows so quickly when planted in the ground and expands to become a massive marvel in the forest. 

The second tree is the strangling fig wrapped around a palm tree having a coexistence that lasts up to 300 years. 
Just before the entrance to the beach on the left hand side, you will see the beginning of a trail that goes up into the hills. 

The trail has many twists and turns many ups and downs. It is recommended after a short brief rise in the hike that you take a moment. Take a sip of water. Enjoy the view and take time on this hike. 

The trail will take a turn towards the West. You'll know it's time to turn as there is normally a log stretched across the trail with an arrow pointing towards Meridor El Toro. 

Watch for busy birds.

El Monteon Tea Pot (Tinagas) Hike

The Teapot waterfalls are best seen from July to December. From January to June, the falls are drier and not recommended for swimming. This is a seven kilometer hike up and back, with many up and down hills. Just south of the entrance to the town of Monteon is a dirt road that heads East. You'll know it's the right road when you pass the high Tower on the left,(west), before you get to the Monteon entrance with the arch, also on the west side of the highway.  Take this road until you get to the underpass of the autopista. Hike Majagua, Lo de Marcos

This is a strenuous uphill hike to breathtaking views of Lo de Marcos. Starting at the Lo de Marcos Plaza, We head East On the principal street called Louise Echeverria. Then we turn left onto Calle Colima. Passing a fruit stand, you might want to get a liquido (friut smoothie), if you're thirsty. Then turn right on Benito Juarez to the next corner where you turn left onto Calle Vicente Guerrero. And then right on Calle Francisco Madero, which will take you in front of our local middle and high school. At the next corner, Calle Miguel Hildago, turn left and head towards the river. This is not the straight route through town, but it's the fun route. After you cross the river, the road will veer to the left, heading down the river towards the ocean.
