El Monteon Tea Pot (Tinagas) Hike

The Teapot waterfalls are best seen from July to December. From January to June, the falls are drier and not recommended for swimming.

This is a seven kilometer hike up and back, with many up and down hills.

Just south of the entrance to the town of Monteon is a dirt road that heads East. You'll know it's the right road when you pass the high Tower on the left,(west), before you get to the Monteon entrance with the arch, also on the west side of the highway.

Take this road until you get to the underpass of the autopista. This is a good spot to start your AllTrails App
Then there will be three choices to make, left, right, or forward. Hike forward and then you will pass a house with a barking dog and the road will veer to the right.

Then you will come to an intersection where you will turn left. The road will begin to rise. Watch for a turn to the right, 1.4 k from the underpass.

The rough country road will take you further Into the farmlands and up the hill, Eventually getting to the waterfall.

Along the way. There are many farm and ranch lands filled with cows and horses, pineapples, and other vegetation. Listen carefully, and you may hear the cry of a chakalaka.
