A Gather's Hike

As we strolled down the quiet street, my eyes were drawn to a charming sight on our left. A lush vine was winding its way along an old electrical line, its tendrils embracing the wires like nature’s own artwork. Hanging from this verdant cascade were a dozen loofah plants, their gourd-like fruits gleaming in the sunlight. These are the same loofahs you might use as natural sponges—simple yet remarkable gifts from nature.

We continued our journey across the winding river, where the gentle current reflected the sky’s shifting hues. On the other side, we climbed the road until we reached a grove of towering mango trees. In June, these trees burst into life, their branches heavy with plump, green fruits that gradually ripen into golden, fragrant treasures—juicy and irresistibly sweet.

Further along the road, just beneath a rustic fence, we discovered a patch of ciruelas—plum trees. When ripe, their fruits glow with a vibrant yellow and deep red, promising a burst of flavor with every bite. The air around them is tinged with their sweet aroma, a testament to summer’s bounty.

Lastly, there was a pineapple grove where the farmers treated us to a big, delicious pineapple.
